It all started in a garage in the 1970's
Like many great companies it all started in a garage in the 1970’s. Slicing by hand, with a Veg-O-Matic, Bill Rouse began working for himself at the age of 18. His first company marketed, processed, and distributed fresh mushrooms to various restaurants and pizza chains in several metropolitan areas throughout the Midwest. In the mid 70’s Bill and his team were the first to design and market Fresh Sliced Tub Technology, maximizing freshness and shelf life of fresh sliced mushrooms.
Realizing that the largest mushroom growers made a priority of consumer retail packages, Bill saw that an undervalued and underserviced segment of the market existed.
